Course

Zipaquirá is located at 2650 meters above sea level. GFNY Bogotá starts from inside the famous Salt Mines of Zipaquirá. Participants will live a unique experience accompanied by music and lights to warm up. The exit from the Salt Mines is controlled for 4km but once outside the race begins and heads towards the municipality of Cajicá. Without entering the neighboring municipality we return along the same road towards Zipaquirá. The first 20 kilometers of the race are flat with some slight inclines and rolling hills.

We then return to Zipaquirá and follow an urban circuit and return to Zipa. When your bike computer reads 33 kilometers, we will then take a curve to the right on Calle 17 to a short but steep climb of 500 meters at 9.9%.  Get ready as this is the first climb before the high mountains.

Next comes the main mountain pass of the day, the Águila via Zipa climb. 15 kilometers at 3.3% with a total of 523 meters of elevation gain. This magnificent climb will remind you of how pleasurable it is to climb mountains by bicycle, it is a long climb but with many breaks, ideal for the legs. During the ascent, the riders will race above 3000 meters high with a sublime view over the valley of the Subachoque river. Once we reach the top and where the official timing of the race will end, everyone goes down to the municipality of Pacho. The medium distance will go down 2.5 kilometers and long distance go down 22 kilometers until they enter the town of Pacho.

The race will finish on the top Alto del Águila. Once there, there will be a controlled descent to the Salt mines where the award ceremony and closing event will take place.
